It cuts very well, not one pass but it’s the best beard trimmer…. – I’ve ever used. I’ve had 5 or 6 over the years, and this one is solid, lots of metal. It powered through my 6 week beard on the 7/17 setting, and left me with a perfect trim. It works so much better than my other trimmers on the neck hair, which seems to grow in all sorts of directions. The shape of the plastic guide comb does the job, better than anything I’ve ever used.

Ok hair trimmer, but not great at beard/stubble – I’ve had a ConairMan for a few years and really like the way it ‘shaves’, leaving just a 5 o’clock shadow (ingrown hair issue, less so for style). My Conair still seems to work ok, but I thought for sure the blades would be dull, so what the heck, wanted to look at options. I ended up with the Philips Series 5000 Norelco clipper/trimmer and am pretty disappointed in the shaving aspect, but they seem to work ok for trimming body hair. Just did a touchup of chest and arms to test, at about 5-10mm. Can’t speak to head hair or other sensitive parts.

Finally met a trimmer that works for me – I have had difficulty finding an electric or battery trimmer that works for me. I have had bad folliculitis (“razor burn bumps”) for my entire adult life, and any one I tries either “bites” (the blades pull on the hair instead of cutting it, or pinch the skin). I also have a type of eczema on my face that can be easily irritated and inflamed from shaving, so I need to be particularly careful. This trimmer works perfectly for me. I no longer get hairs or skin pulled as I am shaving, it is easy to handle, the weight feels just right, and it is easy to control and maneuver. There are “guards” if you want to use them in conjunction with the dial control for length (I haven’t uses it, but I believe if you increase the height on the dial but do not use the guard, it will be just like it was the lowest setting). The battery lasts a while; I charged it once and have used it six times so far, and still have plenty of battery life left. I would definitely recommend this trimmer.
