It is thin so you can get close to your scalp to flatten better at the root. My hair is shiny and silky and really straight and smooth. I was able to get lots of my hair straight in one pass. The one fault and it’s probably because the iron is so thin…it does get hot so you do need to learn not to get your hands near the heat plates but that is just a learning process.

Best iron ever – I have had kinky curly frizzy crazy hair all my life. This iron is the best I’ve had. Does the job after one pass vs a few with others I’ve had. In the past I’ve also had to use Velcro curlers to smooth out my hair, but with this iron, I don’t have to. Love it!! You must use the titanium for dry coarse hair as it works better than the other options.
